Olivia Shotton

Trustee
Olivia is a conductor based in London. She studied Choral Conducting under Patrick Russill at the Royal Academy of Music, where she received a distinction and was awarded a DipRam for outstanding performance in her final recital, in addition to the Sir Thomas Armstrong Choral Leadership Prize. She has conducted in several high-profile masterclasses whilst studying at the Academy, including with the BBC Singers, Paul Brough and David Hill.

Alan Duguid

Trustee
Alan Duguid is the Head of Academic Music at Haberdashers’ Boys School in Elstree. Originally from Aberdeen,
Alan has worked for a decade in secondary education as a teacher, examiner, and middle leader. Recently concluding MEd study at the Royal College of Music, his specific interests lie in redefining the purpose of school music, emphasizing cultural relevance, experiential learning, and the place for musical dialogue to bridge sociocultural divides. Alan has also held various strategic board positions with the Brass Band Conductor’s Association, (BBCA), Enfield Music Hub, and the ‘Enfield Sounds Great’ charitable trust. Beyond these responsibilities, Alan enjoys working with community ensembles, currently as the musical director of the City of London Symphonic Winds and Regent Brass band. He holds a deep belief in promoting diversity and inclusion, particularly through collaborative projects and the performance of new music.

Sian Edwards
she/her/hers
Trustee
Sian Edwards studied at the RNCM, and with Professor A.I. Musin at the Leningrad Conservatoire. She is Head of Conducting at the Royal Academy of Music and Professor of Conducting at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. She has worked with many of the world’s leading orchestras including Los Angeles Philharmonic, Cleveland, Orchestre de Paris, Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, Berlin Symphony, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, MDR Leipzig, Ensemble Modern, Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Finnish Radio Symphony, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Royal Flanders Philharmonic, London Sinfonietta, the Hallé, and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
