Safeguarding policy

Introduction

Elysium Music is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children and young people involved in our activities. We believe that it is always unacceptable for a child or young person to experience abuse of any kind.

Our commitment

We are committed to practice which protects children and young people from harm. Staff and volunteers in this organization accept and recognize our responsibilities to develop awareness of the issues which cause children and young people harm.

Policy aims

The aim of Elysium Music's Safeguarding Policy is to promote good practice:

  • Providing children and young people with appropriate safety and protection whilst in the care of Elysium Music.

  • Allow all staff/volunteers to make informed and confident responses to specific child protection issues.

Policy implementation

Elysium Music will:

  • Promote and prioritize the safety and well-being of children and young people.

  • Ensure everyone understands their roles and responsibilities in respect of safeguarding and is provided with appropriate learning opportunities to recognize, identify and respond to signs of abuse, neglect and other safeguarding concerns relating to children and young people.

  • Respond appropriately to any allegations of misconduct or abuse of a child or young person in line with this policy as well as implementing, where appropriate, the relevant disciplinary and appeals procedures.
